Schoolgirl Apocalypse

film
Jaar:
2011

An infection spreads over Japan changing all men into zombies. After Sakura's mother is attacked and slain, she flees to escape the inevitable apocalypse. Sakura meets good people, bad people, one certain man however seems to bring salvation.

Schoolgirl Apocalypse brings a highschool manga with excerpts of animation and a zombie movie together in an original way and nicely depicts the story of this troubled schoolgirl.

The film is distinguished from similar Japanese films in its approach, perhaps because the creator is not Japanese. Director John Cairns k creates a nice atmosphere and distinguishes the movie from similar genre work, it stands out with it's well-developed drama.

Schoolgirl Apocalypse (Sêrâ-fuku mokushiroku), 86 min, Japan, Japanese spoken, English subs, dir John Cairns
